
Sarah Luke - Principal A.I.S.T.D AAC1
Sarah began dancing at the age of 3 at her local dancing school and has never looked back! From ballet classes once a week she went on to learn Tap, Modern, Jazz, Disco & National Dance. Before she knew it, dance had taken over her life — besides giving her many happy memories, dance has taught Sarah many lessons in life, discipline, dedication, and perseverance. All things she endeavours to teach her students.

After leaving college & attaining her dance teaching qualifications, Sarah worked professionally as a dancer both in the UK and abroad. Sarah appeared in several shows, cabarets, tours & music videos. She did so for several years before returning to her greatest love, teaching.

Sarah has worked in the Entertainment Industry for over 30 years and is passionate about young people fulfilling their potential & giving them every opportunity!

Sarah Luke Performing Arts, established in 2015, aims to provide expert dance classes for all ages and all abilities. Examinations take place regularly as well as a show once every 2 years. PA presentations twice a year.

Our Team

Andrea Sharkey A.I.S.T.D : Head of Tap Faculty
Andrea trained alongside Sarah at the Harrison College of Dance & Drama and gained her Associate Teaching Qualifications in Tap, Ballet, National & Disco/Freestyle. Andrea worked professionally as a Singer and a Dancer both in England and Overseas before settling down to have her family. She has been teaching dance for 25 years as well as being a Head Teacher in Hertfordshire. Andrea still loves performing and is involved in several theatre companies in the area, where she has been involved both on and off the stage.

Katie Barrett A.I.S.T.D : ISTD Qualified Tap, Modern & Ballet Teacher
Katie started dancing at the age of three, learning Imperial classical Ballet, Tap and Modern theatre Dance. Katie continued to dance into her adult years gaining Advanced 2 level in all disciplines. Katie went on to gain a BTEC national diploma in performing arts. She then developed a love for teaching and went onto gain her DDE qualifications in Imperial Ballet, Tap, Modern theatre and National dance. Katie has performed in dance shows, professional pantomimes and spent five years performing as a show girl with a live band in theatres across Hertfordshire. Katie has been teaching children and adults for over 25 years for many dance schools and colleges including the Italia school of Performing Arts in London. Katie previously run her own dance school with her mother for twenty five years. Katie has taught children and adults up to Advanced 2 level and has entered students for ISTD examinations with 100% pass rate. Many of her students have gone on to perform on Cruise Ships, Disneyland, West End Musicals and have gained places at professional dance colleges. Katie also has the pleasure of providing classes for children and adults with special educational needs.

Christina Laurie: Vocalist | Coach | Talent Scout
Christina is a vocalist, top liner and vocal coach based in North London who started out at a young age singing/performing in theatre and television.
Once graduating from ICMP and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, she proudly joined the London Community Gospel Choir in which she works as a session musician and backing vocalist. She has worked for several Artists such as Cliff Richards, Beverley Knight, Hannah Waddingham to name a few and has performed at some memorable events (The Olivier awards, BBC sounds, Saracens at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, The Lion King’s 25th Anniversary and Glastonbury).
After years of experience teaching children and working professionally she opened Christina Laurie Academy, (CLA) an Academy committed and enthusiastic to offer opportunities to aspiring young talent with 1-1 vocal and group sessions at the prestigious Tileyard recording studios. Christina’s aim is and has always been to help inspire children to grow in confidence and reach their full potential.
